Liveline.TV Exhibition at The Muse Gallery

November 23rd, 2007

Exhibition Shot

Thank you very much to all those who braved the torrential rain to come to the show!

Last night’s weather was almost as bad as the England football team but the cool art and free flowing wine provided welcome solace from it.

Several pieces were sold on the night and 2 more already today- the first day of a 3 week exhibition- so it’s all shaping up really well for the 5 artists involved.

The Secret Bid Basket had lots of entries, some successful, some stingy and some mildly insulting.. but not as insulting as some of the comments on our gallery Message Board, which went from weird to downright x- rated as the night wore on..

Big thanks also to Dan from The Jinks who set the soundtrack with a dead groovy set of funky house tracks. We’ll be showcasing their new track ‘Wiggle’ and soon to be released video in the next couple of weeks so watch this space..

If you couldn’t make it down worry not - the exhibition runs for another 3 weeks so if you live nearby or are having a Christmas shop in Notting Hill – please do drop in and have a look- its all at very affordable prices and would be guaranteed to make a lovely present for that someone special!

Liveline.TV returns! Wednesday 21st November

October 23rd, 2007

The Muse at 269
After the runaway success of our opening show earlier this year, Liveline.TV is coming home to The Muse at 269 gallery with an awesome Christmas show and exhibition.

On Wednesday 21st November we’ll be raising a slightly premature glass of mulled wine or two to celebrate the launch of an awesome new website, which gives all members in depth profiles for them to display their wares, integrated social networking features and lots of other cool stuff to help our freelance creatives network and get noticed.

This show is all about the illustrators- some of the UK’s finest freelancers hand picked from shows and websites to deliver the best show possible. So please come and join us- its free to enter, the drinks are delectable but affordable and all in all it promises to be a spectacle that will stay in your mind long after the snow has melted and your little cousin has broken his new Nintendo.

Short and Sweet

April 24th, 2007

Busy times behind the scenes at Liveline.TV but without a lot of blogging to speak of..forgive me.

Unfortunately some of it will have to remain behind the scenes for the time being but suffice it to say if and when we can tell you its going to be very good news!

Short and Sweet

On less cryptic matters, I went to the excellent “Short and Sweet” short film night in Brick Lane, London last night on a talent recce and to meet the lovely Julia to see if there was ways we can hook up the two projects and help one another’s communities grow.

They have been going for about a year now and I was really impressed with the selection of live film and animation they were showing. Plus the armchairs are really comfy.

If you live nearby, or even if, like me you live right the other side of London, I’d really recommend going. Its free, fun and its a great place to meet lots of other directors and film lovers.
Check out Psst Pass It On a seriously cool idea where 3 directors contribute 30 seconds apiece to a 90 second film, each picking up where the one before left off. The films were seriously good. These guys will go far.

Until next time..

Liveline.TV launches to a packed house!

April 2nd, 2007

Party View Outside
Party on the Inside
Thursday’s Launch Party for Liveline.TV was a roaring success with a fit to burst Muse@269 Gallery on London’s Portobello road.
The gallery’s owners said that it was one of the busiest and best nights in their 4 year history which hopefully bodes well for our future!

The exhibition of Illustration, Photography, Music and Animation will run for 3 weeks so if you couldn’t make it down on the night and live nearby, please do drop by Wednesday to Saturday from 12-5pm and have a look at our founding members creations.

Thanks to all those who helped the bar on the night raise £300 for the Royal Marsden Cancer charity, which was selected by the attendees as the cause they wanted to help most.

And thanks massively to all the guys whose work is on show there- you can see (and buy) their creations through the links on the Multimedia Magic page.

Did somebody say party???

Launch Part Flyer
If you haven’t received the Liveline TV official launch party invite…don’t worry, you can rock up to the Muse at 269 (Portobello Road) between 7-10pm this Thursday (the 29th) to enjoy some booze, good company and of course…an unforgettable multimedia experience ;-) Special Thanks to Sophie Anderson - a.k.a. the Gingerbread Lady for designing the invite!

We started setting up in the gallery yesterday and it is looking great! (even though all my hair is falling out and my stomach is in stressed knots)!!! The photographers & illustrators put up their work yesterday and I is well impressed ;-) Tomorrow I am setting up the PC’s (thank you Helena & Conosco!) so y’all can see animation in action, get your groove on with some fresh tunes, or just sit back and browse through our photo album (no, this ain’t one of those boring slideshows your friends make you watch after their holiday…this is quality).

Don’t forget, Thursday you all have a good excuse to drink loads as profits from the bar will goto charity (the vote for which charity will be held online here the following week, so email your favourite charity to kyle@liveline.tv so I can put up a selection to choose from).

Everyone has lots of questions about Liveline TV, what we hope to acheive, etc…so feel free to hunt me down on the night (or Hugh & I during the following weeks we are on exhibition) as we will be hosting the event at the Muse for a couple weeks after this grand occasion! If you cannot make it to the Muse (just like our Ben Smith who is designing and developing this site from Shanghai - nice work mate!!) don’t forget to keep watching this space as we have an e-commerce showcase coming very soon so you can download copies of what you see at the exhibit, or contact the creatives directly to buy an original or even commission bespoke work.

And of course, don’t forget to invite mates as we aim to be inclusive!!!

Kyle

Hint: Don’t forget to bring me birthday presents!

Let the Music Play

November 16th, 2006

Big things a going on at Liveline.TV! Plans are gathering pace (i.e making it onto the back of beermats) and the crew is growing.

Current thinking is to divide the channel into Video - Music - Illustration - Photography - Games - Web because:

a. We’ve already got guys that can produce some really good stuff in each of those areas
b. We can do it all through our Live Space set up and social network links
c. I reckon those cover all the digital art angles I can think of.

Anyways, I have finally had the chance to start approaching some of our ‘extended creative family’ about getting more good content to get the community rolling.

- We’ve got some great music from 3 very talented friends of mine each doing big things in their own musical genres - The Jinks, Angus Havers and Jamie Kong- check out the Myspace links above and please show them some love on their page!

- Perhaps even more exciting is that after years of soul searching, I think I have finally found the niche for uber animator Lawrence Watson to come to the fore. Basically, he is a kind of demi god of illustration (see his section in the Photobook above) and animation (see his YouTube videos) but being a web focused business I have always found it very difficult to sell his work to guys after websites and not wanted to get distracted from our core business by pushing into multimedia.

Then I got into YouTube and discovered that animations which Lawrence could do with his graphics tablet behind his back are getting over 2,000,000 views and that they can make good money on Metacafe too. Liveline.TV will enable us to promote his work with the dedication it deserves and when we combine it with some scores from Angus, I think we can start to really get these two making jaw dropping stuff that will go viral like the common cold.

Meeting/ boozing/ procrastinating

November 7th, 2006

After a fun weekend in southern Spain to escape the madness I have now fled from the building site that is my home to the sanctity of Katie’s brother’s house in the little village of Ashwell, Hertforshire.

Despite the distraction of Katies extra cute new nephew Ned, am sure that not being interrupted to discuss the positioning of the toilet and its subsequent run off every half hour will help me concentrate on getting this business off the ground…
